Free Subscription to Wedding Magazine

Well, I am feeling very generous at the moment, so I have decided to give away a years subscription to Your South Wales Wedding magazine starting from the date you book your wedding with Affirmation Photography. I think it is one of the best wedding magazines simply because it is focused on South Wales, so it is all relevant to your wedding. You will see venues you recognise, bridal shops and florists that are local to you for example. Whereas the national Magazines have their place, it can get very frustrating to see a fabulous venue that turns out to be two hundred miles away...

To qualify, just quote Your South Wales Wedding when you enquire, then when you pay your deposit to secure the date, I will set up the subscription straight away. The magazine is out every two months so you will get 6 issues over the next year to help with planning you wedding.

Don't forget that all Affirmation brides get the added benefit of being able to get in touch with myself at any time in the run-up to your wedding if you need recommendations for anything. From flowers, to wedding gowns, cars to cakes if you are stuck for anything, then I am only to happy to help. It's all part of the personal service you can expect from Affirmation Photography.

You can still vote for Mari and Gareth to win wedding of the year 2009 (See last post for link) Voting closes on the 18th June 2009. Click here to view their online album.

Affirmation Photography is now on Facebook if you want to join me on there too...

That's all for now, hope the rain stays away tomorrow for the wedding of Victoria and Andrew. have a great weekend whatever you do.

Wedding of the Year 2009

The last wedding I photographed was on a fabulous sunny day in April and is being featured in 'Your South Wales Wedding' Magazine. They have just started a Wedding of the Year competition and Mari and Gareth are one of the featured couples.

Over the next six issues, other couples will be featured and everyone will get a chance to vote for the favourite. All six couples will then go through for a final vote, and the finalists will win a weekend at a luxury hotel in Wiltshire.

On top of that, if it is an Affirmation Photography couple, I will be giving them more prizes worth £100.

Click here to vote for Mari and Gareth.

As usual, you can leave your comments and questions here. Have a great bank holiday weekend!

Craig-y-Nos castle wedding

There is something special about being at a wedding as a photographer from the morning through to the evening. The bridesmaids and bride getting ready, the cars arriving, the groom looking nervous at the church, and spending time with the bride and groom before the reception. It's great to get the guests laughing and toasting the speeches, the little ones creating their own entertainment oblivious to what is going on around them and the first dance, with the bride and groom now husband and wife.

Photographing all these moments are a privilege, though hard work. It goes without saying that the longer I am at a wedding, the more images there are to sort through, edit, upload process orders, and finally choose for the album. This is so hard when there are hundreds to choose from!

Last Saturday was spent photography Mari and Gareth's wedding. Firstly at the brides house were three little bridesmaids, (one of which had been up since 5.30am, she couldn't sleep with the excitement) which was great as I was able to photograph the little ones while the bride and her sister got themselves ready.

We did some photographs outside the house of the bride and her parents before setting of for the church with the bridesmaids. The weather was perfect, blue sky and white fluffy clouds, I couldn't have asked for better.

The bride and groom wanted their photographs taken in the country park next to the castle which is a great choice. Although I try to be as flexible as possible on the day, the one thing I insist on is having some time alone with the bride and groom. After all, they are paying me to take photographs of them on their wedding day. Though the family and friends are an important part of the day, having the couple alone gives them a breather so they can relax a little and just take a few moments to appreciate the day. Secondly, I can get natural looking images without them being distracted by guests trying to get them to look 'this way' and 'that way'.

Staying for the evening also means that you get the first dance, evening guests arriving, the entertainment and the more relaxed images of the day guests. Mari and Gareth opted for a chocolate fountain and a hog roast (which was served outside with a cold buffet) for their evening food.

I will be publishing more photographs from Mari and Gareth's wedding soon. My site is also going to be updated with new wedding galleries over the next week. If you want to receive updates, you can become a follower of the Affirmation Photography blog, so you will be one of the first 'in the know'!

That's all for now, have a great week, please leave comments and questions, or you can get in touch here.
